Dry forest bulldozed in neat rectangles for cattle and soy; one of the fastest deforestation rates on Earth.

The Gran Chaco, spanning Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia, is South America's second-largest forest. Its dry woodland is being cleared at a pace that has at times exceeded the Amazon's, mostly for cattle ranching and soybean fields. The rectangular clearings are striking from above. Jaguars, giant armadillos and indigenous communities depend on what remains.
