One of the largest lowland evergreen forests left in mainland Southeast Asia, hollowed out by illegal logging.
Prey Lang ('our forest' in the Kuy language) spans four Cambodian provinces and was made a wildlife sanctuary in 2016. Illegal logging of luxury timber, land concessions and clearing for cashew and rubber have continued regardless. The Prey Lang Community Network, a volunteer patrol group, has documented the losses and won international awards, while facing arrests and bans from entering the forest.
